5 Tips to Help Navigate and Keep Things Moving as Planned

The process of buying a home has long been an in-person transaction, but during these extraordinary times the real estate industry has had to adapt and restructure to keep things moving as planned when it comes to closing on a home.
While many realtors have moved to showing homes virtually, here at Rally Point Title we have also adapted to these uncertain times by continuing to help home buyers with a closing process that’s done efficiently by working completely remotely.
Here are some tips to help to keep the closing of your home going as planned:
1. Enlist Your Team
It’s important to have a solid team on your side throughout this process.
Enlist the following experts:
· Title & Settlement Agent
· Mortgage professional
· Home inspector
· Attorney
2. Gather Documents Ahead of Time
Do your best to have all your closing documents ready to go, such as:
· Your homeowner’s insurance policy
· Photo identification
· A list of your addresses for the past 10 years
You’ll also need to be aware of the title documents you’ll need to review and sign. Your title agent will help guide and navigate you through this process so it will as smooth as possible. This is a great time to ask any questions you may have while reviewing documents.
3. Download Resources
Our website is equipped with resources for you to download and use as needed. Check out our “Resources” section where you’ll find everything from affidavits to title order forms.
4. Prepare Yourself
Unfortunately, there are sometimes delays in the closing process. It’s important to prepare yourself for what’s to come. Work with your team to avoid any appraisal, loan and home inspection issues.
5. Be Ready to Get Your Hands Dirty
Besides organizing and packing, social distancing may mean more physical work for you. Once it’s time to move in, you may have to do a lot of the moving yourself. This may seem like a daunting task, but it will help curb the spread of COVID-19 by keeping the interactions to those just in your home.
